Luxury Restroom Trailer — Wedding at Muckenthaler Mansion

The Challenge

A couple planning their dream outdoor wedding at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center & Mansion in Fullerton needed portable restroom facilities that matched the venue's historic elegance. With 220 guests expected for a full-day celebration — ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner reception, and dancing — the couple wanted restrooms that their guests would barely notice were portable.

The Muckenthaler's outdoor event space has limited permanent restroom access, making supplemental portable facilities essential. However, standard porta potties were out of the question for this formal, black-tie affair.

Our Assessment

We visited the Muckenthaler grounds to assess placement options, power access, and aesthetic integration. Key considerations:

• The trailers needed to be positioned behind landscape hedges to maintain visual harmony
• Power hookups were available near the catering prep area — we planned cable runs to the trailers
• The March date meant pleasant weather but we prepared climate control for evening temperatures
• Guest flow from the reception tent to restrooms needed to be intuitive with subtle signage

The Solution

We provided a carefully curated setup of 8 units designed for elegance and comfort:

• 2 luxury restroom trailers — each with 4 private stalls (2 women's, 2 men's), flushing porcelain toilets, granite countertops, vanity mirrors with warm lighting, climate control, and hardwood-look flooring
• 6 portable hand washing stations — decorative units with premium soap dispensers and cloth-like towels, matching the wedding's color palette

Both trailers were positioned behind the mansion's east garden hedge, accessible via a flagstone pathway with string lights that the wedding planner incorporated into the venue's décor. From the reception tent, guests saw only a tasteful directional sign — the trailers were completely hidden from the celebration space.

Results

Multiple guests commented that they didn't realize the restrooms were portable until told. The bride later wrote in her review: "The restroom trailers were nicer than the ones in most restaurants. Our guests were genuinely impressed — one even asked where we found them."
